Built Different: Jacksonville Athletic Academy’s 2025 Season Signals What’s Next
Jacksonville Athletic Academy didn’t just play a 2025 season — it announced its arrival.
From nationally recognized honors to measurable year-over-year growth, JAA Football took a decisive step forward, cementing itself as one of the most competitive and academically driven independent collegiate programs in the country. The 2025 campaign was defined by tougher competition, deeper accountability, and a culture that demanded more every week.
The results followed.
A Season Defined by Growth
After laying the groundwork in 2024, JAA entered 2025 with clear intent: raise the standard. The program delivered with a 40% increase in wins, a more demanding schedule, and a roster that embraced development on and off the field.
JAA competed against NCAA programs, including Division I Presbyterian College and Division II Clayton State University, proving it belongs on the national stage. Those matchups weren’t just tests — they were statements.

“We challenged our guys on purpose,” said Head Coach Nolan Carroll. “You don’t grow by staying comfortable. We wanted to see who we were against real competition, and our players responded.”
Week after week, JAA showed increased physicality, discipline, and execution. The program matured in real time.
Stars Emerged — And Were Recognized
The 2025 season also produced national recognition, with multiple student-athletes earning ICAA All-American honors, including First Team, Second Team, and Freshman selections.
From playmakers in space to dominant trench performers, JAA’s roster showcased balance, depth, and future potential. These honors weren’t handed out — they were earned through consistency, preparation, and accountability.
“Recognition like this validates the work,” said Athletic Director Necho Carroll. “But more importantly, it validates the system we’ve built. Our players are developed the right way, and the results are starting to show.”
Winning in the Classroom
While the on-field growth turned heads, the program’s academic performance set it apart.
The Graduating Class of 2025 finished with an average GPA of 3.61, with every graduate earning an Associate degree — a benchmark few independent programs can match.
“Football is the platform, but education is the mission,” Carroll emphasized. “This class proved that you don’t have to sacrifice academics to compete at a high level.”
JAA’s commitment to academic accountability continues to be a cornerstone of its identity.
A Culture That Travels
More than wins and honors, the 2025 season reflected something deeper — culture.
JAA became known for its professionalism, preparation, and discipline. Players transferred out with improved résumés. Recruits took notice. Coaches and evaluators recognized the structure behind the program.
“This wasn’t about one season,” said Coach Carroll. “This was about laying the foundation for sustained success. Our locker room changed. Our mindset changed. And once that happens, everything else follows.”
What’s Next: The Future Is Clear
As JAA turns the page toward 2026 and beyond, the trajectory is unmistakable.
Recruiting momentum is accelerating
NCAA and national exposure continue to expand
Player development pipelines are strengthening
Academic standards remain non-negotiable
The program is no longer building — it’s ascending.
“We’re just getting started,” said Athletic Director Carroll. “The vision is bigger. The expectations are higher. And JAA is becoming a destination for student-athletes who want more.”
The Statement Has Been Made
The 2025 season was a turning point.
Jacksonville Athletic Academy proved it can compete nationally, develop elite talent, and graduate student-athletes prepared for life beyond football. The standard has been set — and the future is wide open.
JAA Football isn’t chasing the moment.
It’s building the next era.
