JAA Shows Progress Despite 34–14 Loss to Andrew College

Jacksonville, FL —

In their third game of the season, the Jacksonville Athletic Academy (JAA) continued to demonstrate growth and competitive resolve despite a 34–14 loss to Andrew College. The matchup tested the team’s endurance and execution, but also revealed clear signs of progress on both sides of the ball as the Mocs continue to build their identity early in the year.

JAA opened the game with energy, moving the ball effectively on its opening drives and setting an aggressive tone. The defense stood strong in the first quarter, holding Andrew to short gains and forcing a key turnover that set up JAA’s first touchdown. As the game wore on, however, missed opportunities and a few costly errors allowed Andrew to build momentum and extend its lead in the second half.

Despite the final score, the Mocs showcased resilience — refusing to back down, fighting through adversity, and executing key adjustments coming out of halftime. The offensive rhythm and defensive pursuit reflected a young but improving team finding its footing against tough competition.

Head Coach Nolan Carroll emphasized the importance of the journey and the lessons learned through these early matchups:

“We’re building from the ground up — establishing a standard of discipline, toughness, and belief. Every game is another chance to get better. What matters most is that we keep learning, keep competing, and keep trusting the process. The wins will come as we stay committed to that.”

The loss moved JAA to 1–3 on the season, but the performance underscored the team’s commitment to growth and the foundation being laid for future success. As they prepare for the next stretch of the season, the Mocs remain focused on refining execution and continuing their upward trajectory.
